Frequently Asked Questions: Rush

The benefits you receive through out your Kappa Sigma experience are great. While in college you will have the chance to be apart of a very strong Brotherhood with a rich tradition Nationally and locally. There are many other advantages while in college including Men's and Co-Rec intramural athletics with the Fraternity, Homecoming with a great Sorority, Community Service, Leadership, Participating in premier events like Freshman Follies, Varsity Revue, and Spring Sing with another Sorority, and obviously a more complete social scene with numerous functions, "coke dates", and date parties. All this is possible with a great collegiate experience with Kappa Sigma. Once out of school, there are many connections that you will develop while active in the Fraternity, many active alumni chapters that meet regularly, and of course, a lifetime of Brotherhood among other Kappa Sigma's!
What benefits will I receive from Kappa Sigma?

Fraternities are more than parties, most myths of Fraternities are built up by scenes seen in movies. The Fraternity system is dry and having alcohol on the premises is a violation of our by-laws and the local IFC (Interfraternal Council) regulations. Many members do not drink and there is no pressure by anyone to make anyone else drink and you definitely do not have to drink. We have an alcohol policy which we follow closely, drinking underage is very much looked down upon and will be dealt with internally.

Why would we want to haze our future brothers? We don’t believe in that, we build better men through positive and safe brotherhood development activities such as paintball, shotgun outings, basketball tournaments, lake trips, and roadtrips. We also have a strict no-hazing policy that we follow, hazing is a thing of the past and only still exists in movies.
