Homecoming at Oklahoma State is not just a football game as it is at many other universities. Homecoming comprises numerous events together account for the largest student-run event on campus each year. Kappa Sigma is dedicated to enhancing this event through award-winning participation and leadership to entice alumni to return home to OSU every year.

Each year the eleven sororities on campus pair up with eleven fraternities to compete in various aspects of the homecoming celebration. The centerpiece of the homecoming celebration is the house decoration, or "house deck" competition. House decorations are designed and built on the property in front of the fraternity house over a period of months starting in the fall semester and ending the night before the Homecoming football game when over 40,000 OSU alumni and their families take part in the "Walk Around" to see all eleven entries in their gigantic colorful and mechanical glory. During this time, countless hours are spent "pomping" screens in the basement of our house with over a hundred girls from our paired sorority.

In recent years, Kappa Sigma has consistently placed in the Top 5 in the House Decoration Competition, paired with such sororities as Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Phi Mu. Kappa Sigma has also continued the streak of winning First Place in the Homecoming Parade Competition with the always entertaining annual entry of the "Kappa Sigma Lawnmower Drill Team." The Parade takes place along Main Street the morning of the football game in front of the adoring eyes of over 10,000 alumni and their family. Kappa Sigma also participates and received honors for participating in all of the other Homecoming activities such as the annual Blood Drive, Harvest Carnival and artistic design competitions.

Oklahoma State's weeklong Homecoming celebration is organized and run by a group of about eighty students selected from hundreds of applicants across campus known as the Homecoming Steering Committee. Kappa Sigma is proud to have had its members on Homecoming Steering in recent years to help OSU become nationally recognized for having the #1 Homecoming Celebration in America. Our men have not only been active members of this committee, but have been the overall chairmen of such things as the Parade, Public Relations and Alumni Relations.
