Krazy DayS

In the Spring of each year, Kappa Sigma puts on the Krazy DayS fundraising competition. All eleven sororities compete in this weeklong event in order to win the proceeds that are collected throughout the week, totaling up to four thousand dollars in the past. This money is donated to the winning sorority's philanthropy of choice by Kappa Sigma in the sorority's name.

The week of competition begins with a sand castle building competition, in which the sororities spend a day attempting the create the most creative and extravagent design possible, having been given only a ton of sand and a few buckets and shovels to start with. To limit any partiality that our members may have for particular sororities, the judging of this contest is conducted by city and university officials that had previously volunteered.

Other main events during the week include the Talent Show and the Kappa Sigma Date Auction, two very exciting and humerous events. Along with tee shirt sales, these two portions of the competition raise a large majority of the money that is to be donated to charity.

Other events in the week have included spirit competitions, a topless car wash (don't worry, the guys are the ones without shirts) and a penny-wars tournament on campus to see which sorority can collect the most loose change.

Krazy DayS has proven to be successful in numerous ways since it was started in the Spring of 2000. While raising needed funds for worthwhile charities, Kappa Sigma brings the women of Oklahoma State's Greek community together in a competitive atmosphere that is a lot of fun and benefits a great cause.
